Questions About Online:

  • We’ll make use of the Zoom platform for online participation. You’ll need a device connected to the internet that can run Zoom, a camera, and a microphone (a computer is ideal, but a phone or tablet may suffice).

We recommend downloading and using the Zoom desktop client or Zoom app and not your browser for the best experience.

Please make yourself familiar with using the basic functions of Zoom prior to the Focus Lab. We’ll do our best to help you with technical issues, but tech support for individual users may be limited.

Immediately prior to attending the SV Focus Lab, Make sure your Zoom client is up-to-date and test your audio and video in order to minimize any issues you may encounter.

  • Yes and no.

We’re working hard to make this the best hybrid experience possible. Presenters will be able to see and hear online participants, just as they do those who are in-person. You will participate in breakouts and role-plays with other online participants.

Two key differences will be that all online participants will be together in the same breakout session, and the social aspect of being at the SV Focus Lab will be different.

Being in person will provide a unique social aspect, with opportunities to interact before and after the Focus Lab. While we think this is a great reason to join us in person, we realize it’s not possible for everyone, and we are paying attention to the social aspects of being an online participant as well.

Regarding breakout sessions, all content will be available to participants online after the conference (we’ll probably take some time to edit it first). So, you’ll have access to the breakout sessions that were only available in-person live. This access is good for one year after the Focus Lab.

  • We’re working hard to make this the best hybrid experience possible. As part of the SV Focus Lab team we have people who have helped produce online and hybrid training experiences since 2020 and began working and planning as soon as we announced the Focus Lab.

Presenters will be able to see and hear online participants, just as they do those who are in-person. You will participate in breakouts and role-plays with other online participants.

We would love to have you join us in person, but if you can’t, we believe you’ll have a great interactive learning experience wherever you choose to join us from.

  • All content (teaches, breakouts, etc.) will be available to all participants online after the Focus Lab (we’ll probably take some time to edit it first).

As an online participant, you’ll even have access to the breakout sessions that were only available in-person during the live Focus Lab.

CEs are only available for live participation, though, so if you miss part of the live lab and plan to watch it later you won’t get CE credit for what was missed live.
